We affectionately referred to this project as the Dark Walnut Cherry house, because everyone that saw it immediately commented on how stunning the combination of cherry wood with a dark walnut stain on the custom cabinetry was.  However, this was much more than just a new kitchen as we fully renovated this 45 year old rancher.

Not only did the kitchen feature the aforementioned cherry wood with dark walnut stained cabinets, it was accented by cream coloured MDF upper cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and a stunning glass tile backsplash.

Custom Millwork

Directly beside the kitchen we installed a cream colour lacquered MDF panty unit with an integrated work station and desk.  On top of the custom unit we built a display case with glass doors that the client requested to showcase her collection of animal figurines.

The custom millwork didn’t end there.  At the client’s request we designed and built a custom home theatre entertainment centre built that was integrated with a new fireplace.  The end result was a compelling whole wall piece that highlighted their living room.

Bedrooms were also updated with fine custom cabinetry.  The master bedroom received a new arched headboard over the clients’ bed, with attached nightstands and upper wall cabinets for additional storage.  We also designed a custom closet organizer in the walk in closet after consulting with the clients to ensure it met their needs.

All bathrooms in the home were updated with the same dark walnut cherry cabinets the kitchen received.  While every bathroom received new tilework, plumbing fixtures and paint – the client’s favorite feature was the new basin sinks top mounted on the counters.

Everything Else

In addition to these room specific changes, we also completed house wide updates including new crown mouldings, trim work, light fixtures, windows, painting and new French doors.  Tying everything together, we installed a beautiful new Brazilian cherry hardwood floor.
